Open-c Solutions is pleased to have partnered with Washington Gas (WG) to implement Open-cIS™, WG’s new third-party independent billing and customer care solution. The implementation effort was completed in January 2003. The Open-cIS platform delivers billing services to retail customer-choice customers in Washington Gas’s deregulated marketplace by seamlessly integrating the utility’s and participating supplier’s charges. This effort completes the migration from a third-party service provider to an in-house solution supported and operated by Washington Gas.

The Open-cIS customer care solution allows Washington Gas to effectively support the expansion of the deregulated marketplace by providing end-use customers and suppliers with flexible, consolidated billing options. Using the Open-cIS solution, Washington Gas can rapidly respond to changing market requirements and support the business practices of several retail suppliers on a single platform.

Open-c Solutions teamed with implementation partners Accenture and Fortegra, Inc. to meet its obligations under the agreement.

WGL Holding Company is the parent company of Washington Gas, a natural gas utility that serves approximately 900,000 customers throughout metropolitan Washington D.C. and the surrounding regions in Maryland and Virginia.
